Immediately following High School graduation, I enlisted active duty in the US Air Force. This was a great four years during which I met my future wife, Kim, and future Oak Island president John Hawkins.
After the Air Force, I began working with John on his haunted houses and was also flying through the ranks at a national industrial supplies company. In 2003, I decided to join John full-time with Oak Island with the goal of building and growing a products division.
The rate of growth experienced over the past six years at Oak Island has been amazing and with two different thriving business models (attractions production and products) a separation of the two at Oak Island was inevitable. In 2008, John and I began working on a plan that would better facilitate both operations and also achieve one of my personal goals of becoming a sole business owner. In early 2009, an agreement was finalized detailing the “buy-out” of the products division from Oak Island under my newly established company, Onadira.
